Everyone knows Denver has amazing natural sights to see, but there’s also an exploding EDM scene in the city waiting to be explored.
The Mile High City really has it all; great food, hiking trails, snow sports, hot springs just a jump away, and now a thriving EDM scene. The popularity of EDM venues in Denver has grown so much over the years that it’s put Denver on the map not just as a place you might be able to find a nightclub, but as a full-fledged EDM destination. From outdoor stages, to intimate clubs, and even big summer festivals, EDM has a home in Denver.
Here are all the must-see venues in Denver to experience the best up-and-coming EDM acts and well-loved DJs, too. Whether it’s the venue with the best sound, post-show food, or comfiest layout, you’ll find it below.
Red Rocks Amphitheater
Just 16 kilometers west of Denver stands the Red Rocks Amphitheater, a venue as beautiful as it is acoustically impressive. The rock formations that give the venue its name (and, yes, they are red) also create nearly flawless natural acoustics. And a visit to Red Rocks is also a perfect opportunity to explore the nearby hiking trails-- so you can soak up the natural beauty before you head to the amphitheater to experience some of the top acts to come through Denver.

The Black Box
The Black Box cares about creating a special musical experience--they are equipped with Basscouch Sound, a wide floor across two rooms to get your groove on, and even a VIP area with bottle service.
Beta is another club in Denver touted for their superb sound system. If you’re serious about EDM and you want to dance to some of the best acts on a great set-up, go to Beta. World-class EDM acts pass through this venue, like Deadmau5 and Skrillex, so it’s absolutely worth checking in to see who will be playing if you’re visiting Denver.
A DJ spinning for the crowd
With four stories and a different kind of music on every floor, this Denver club really has something for everyone. Club Vinyl is part of a family-run group of clubs all very close to each other, including Milk and The Church. But this club also has something that set it apart from the other venues mentioned so far; a wonderful outdoor space. Come to hear unbeatable DJs play on a great sound system, stay for drinks around the outdoor fireplaces. Just get ready to have great time!
Working the boards
Bar Standard also has an outdoor patio, but this venue has a specifically Art Deco themed patio for those looking for great outdoor ambience to lounge in. This upscale club is perfect for seeing top-notch acts downstairs and then escaping to the rooftop patio for a drink, a good conversation, and a beautiful view of the Denver skyline.
The Church offers an absolutely stunning space with a vaulted ceiling, amazing light shows and, as you might have guessed, beautiful stained glass from the building’s time as an actual church. One thing is sure— you won’t have a club experience like this anywhere else.
Last but not least, there’s Milk Bar. Milk is an underground club featuring different rotating themed rooms, including a “Clockwork Orange” inspired room, an 80’s retro room, and even a goth room. This is the place to lose yourself in EDM and dance all night.
